Founded in 1900, the Ivy Baseball Club is one of the oldest amateur baseball teams in North America. In 1922,
the team adopted the name Ivy Leafs and sported a Maple Leaf with the letter 'I' inside. The Leafs joined the North
Dufferin Baseball League in 1939.
Ivy has won the Strothers Cup as North Dufferin League champions on 7 occasions.
Two players were recognized by the team when after their untimely deaths, the Ivy Leafs
retired their uniform numbers and have a special place of honour in the Ivy Orange Lodge.
- Bob Elliott #2 (1943 - 1989)
- George Ellis #27 (1943 - 1988)
When Don McMaster donned the Ivy Leafs uniform for 2000, it marked 5 decades of involvement
with the Ivy team, having started with the club in 1968.
